Professed Membership in the Society of the Cross
Professed Membership is a serious matter and should prayerfully be considered.
Professed
Members must be 21 years of age or older and looking for a deeper spiritual commitment to God as lived in a vowed life (Professed
Membership). Our vows are biblically based; thus our Professed Members come from many church backgrounds and traditions. Professed
Members are men and women, clergy and laity, married and single who feel called to the vowed life (Professed Membership) and wish
to bind themselves to the Society of the Cross by public vows to God.
As stated before the emphasis of the Society of the Cross
is missions, evangelism, discipleship and biblical teaching and in reaching out to the poor, needy and ill in acts of individual and
corporate charity.
Our Professed Members are committing themselves to a life of discipleship (taking up their cross daily in
a life of self-denial and submission to the will of God), prayer, study of the Scriptures and taking the message of the Cross to those
they encounter in their daily lives.
